Felony: Man Busted After Recklessly Riding Stolen Motorcycle, Fleeing, Slate Belt Police Say

A 26-year-old man was charged with a felony after he recklessly rode a stolen motorcycle and fled the scene, Slate Belt police said.

Officers responding to the report of a motorcycle being recklessly driven without a license plate near S. Broadway and Male Road in Wind Gap found the vehicle parked at a stall at the Wind Gap Plaza shortly after 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, authorities said.

A follow-up investigation found that the motorcycle had been stolen, and the driver, identified as Mark L. Rohl, was seen on surveillance footage parking the vehicle, entering the store, exiting, and fleeing before officers arrived.

Rohl was arrested on a warrant and charged with felony receiving stolen property and various traffic offenses on Tuesday, March 29, police said.

He was being held in the Northampton County Prison pending a court appearance.
